Whether carried by road, air or sea, transporting works of art is a service that demands specific expertise. Artrans specialises in transporting works of art, offering a range of tailor-made logistics solutions.

Artrans operates a fleet of 65 vehicles, 20 of which are used exclusively for transporting works of art. Our fleet consists of four types of vehicle: 20 m3, 25 m3, 50 m3 and an articulated lorry. All of our vehicles are air-conditioned and fitted with air suspension and a GPS system. Our vehicles are environmentally friendly and comply with the Euro 5 standard.

Each vehicle is equipped with internal padding, bars and stowage straps.

Our drivers work in pairs, regardless of the distance, and all our vehicles are fitted with a passenger seat.

In line with our sustainable development policy, our drivers have undergone eco-driving and fuel conservation training.

Air transport

Our coordinators work primarily with scheduled airlines, and the organiser is given the final say on the choice of airline.

All inbound and outbound consignments are overseen by specialist supervisors based in Paris, or by our agents in other countries.

These supervisors and agents oversee the following operations:

• loading and unloading, with all consignments supervised on the tarmac until take-off or immediately after landing
• palletisation/depalletisation
• transportation of the crates to the plane, boat or train
• container loading/unloading.

At Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport, we work with a partner with 15 years’ experience in supervising inbound and outbound works of art.
